This service will be a reflection of a very interesting journey and a blessed witness to the power of Community and the strength of so many in the struggle for justice, safety and change.
Worship Leader: Robert MacEachern
Worship Associate: Douglas Shaheen
Music Leaders: Dan Loschen & The FPD Choir
Robert J. MacEachern is a 3rd generation Dorchester resident and a Proud graduate of the Boston Public Schools with a learning disability (Mather ’87). Bobby started his path of Community Activism in the late 1980’s when he got sick and tired of drug dealers using his street as a drug drop off location. One day he took their stash, went to a neighbor to call 911. The responding Officers made it clear that was a bad idea. One of the Officers was Willie Gross and they remain good friends. Bobby went on to become the youngest person elected to neighborhood leadership at 17. After 7 years as President of the Ashmont Hill Association he went on to become a Board Member of the Codman Square Health Center for over 20 years and is currently in his 5th term as President. Bobby spent over 20 years working with at risk teens, 16 of which in a residential group home for LGBTQ Youth. Currently serving his 2nd term as a Commissioner on the Boston Human Rights Commission. He holds a Degree in Black Studies and Urban Studies from UMass Boston.
“We welcome you, whoever you are, whatever tradition, gender, race, class, sexual identity, ability, or age you represent. May you grow in the ways of respect, service, and wholeness. And through all your days may you know that you are loved.“
We are a lay-led congregation, meaning services and spiritual leadership are provided by community members rather than a designated minister. This reflects our commitment to shared ministry, where all members participate in roles such as worship leading, pastoral care, social justice work, and other community activities.
