Boston Police Commissioner William Gross joined First Parish on January 11 for our monthly potluck dinner. William Gross is Boston’s first African American Commissioner and he started his career on the force in Dorchester. Over 75 FPD members, friends and neighbors, (including his mother Deanna) enjoyed a spaghetti dinner and conversation. Commissioner Gross talked about the importance of community resources to work toward reducing gun violence, opioid addiction and strengthening neighborhood relationships.
Many thanks to Bruce Shatswell and Tom Cunningham for the food and live music to host a great dinner. Many volunteers helped make the dinner a success with desserts, set- up and clean-up. A special thanks to our FPD family for attending and welcoming so many of our neighbors.
