A Bright Future and Fresh Paint: Fall Reflections from the Board Chair

With Fall days upon us, it gives me pause to reflect on the wonderful summer at First Parish Dorchester. We came together in support of each other through enriching Sunday services, enjoyed fellowship, made new friends at our BBQs, and appreciated the view through our beautifully restored Parish Hall windows. The final window should be back by the end of October.

We’re continuing to update the building. The Parish Hall ceiling is ready to be painted, all lighting fixtures in the Sanctuary have been repaired, and there are now wall switches on the back wall. Special thanks to Robert Hanson for fixing the two exterior sanctuary windows, and to our custodian Tony, who has been working hard sheetrocking the back hallway.

With every improvement, we breathe new life into our spiritual home, and in turn, into our growing congregation. Attendance is up, and we’ve welcomed many new visitors. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated congregants and friends, old and new, working together to help us flourish.

Hat’s off to all of our hardworking community members, and Happy Fall to everyone!
